Idiopathic juvenile osteoporosis (ijo) is a rare cause of extremities pain in children. The main symptoms are: back and extremities pain, gait disturbances and fractures. The cause of ijo is unknown. The diagnosis is based on the exclusion of the known causes of osteoporosis. Remission usually follows pubertal maturation. Until now, few cases have been presented in the literature. In this report we describe a 4-year period of observation of two children with ijo. It must be stressed, that despite the serious symptoms at the beginning of the illness, the prognosis of recovery in both cases is good.
